Dr. Amol Saxena, DPM is a podiatrist specializing in Sports Medicine and Surgery at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation since 1993. Dr Saxena is a graduate of the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. He has been a runner since 1972, having completed several marathons.
In 2004 he was awarded the California Podiatric Medical Association Humanitarian of the Year. Dr. Saxena is a past President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM) and received the the Schuster Award for outstanding research in 2011. He serves on the Editorial Board for Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr Saxena has published over 200 scientific papers and book chapters and served as the editor for several books (see below), including a childrens book, The First Birthday Party.
