The Budin Toe Splint is a plantar pad that is situated under the forefoot with an adjustable elastic strap that goes over one, two or three toes. It is named for Harry A. Budin who was the Head of the Department of Orthodigita at what was the then First Institute of Podiatry (now the NYCPM). He is the author of the 1941 book, Principles and Practice of Orthodigita.

They are used when a toe or toes need to be splinted, straightened or dorsiflexion restricted. For example:
- post-operative splint following digital surgery
- splinting to correct maligned, overlapping or hammer toes
- claw toes
- splint following trauma
- Freiberg’s disease
- plantar plate tear
