Fat Pad Impingement (Hoffa Disease)
Infrapatellar fat pad (Hoffa’s fat pad) and/or bursa may get impinged between patella and femoral condyle – may be traumatised by repeated maximal extension of the knee.
Get localised tenderness over fat pad. More painful on knee hyperextension.
Treatment – strapping to change patella alignment; NSAID’s
