Electroencephalography

Electroencephalography (EEG):
Electrical activity of the brain can be measured by the use of electrodes placed on the scalp – but it is estimated to record only <1% of the brains activity at any one time. Rhythmical waveforms can be detected at many different frequencies.

Various diseases can be detected by abnormalities of the EEG.
Important in management of epilepsy.
