Staphylococci aureus

Staph aureus:
Coagulase positive, gram positive cocci.

Strong propensity to invade traumatised tissue.
Can cause serious infection that rapidly spreads along fascial planes – (could also be due to streptococcus pyogenes or anaerobes)
