Wolverine previously owned Brooks Running since 1981 and sold it to Rokke Group in 1992 for USD$21 million saying at the time: “The decision to sell the Brooks business reflects our conviction that Wolverine World Wide cannot allocate the resources required to fully realize Brooks` potential without shortchanging our core Hush Puppies and Wolverine brands”. During the time Wolverine owned Brooks, Brooks licensed the Kinetic Wedge and incorporated it in one of their running shoes, the Nexus. Wolverine owned the Kinetic Wedge trademark from 1986 to 1994.
