Positive model is computer designed and manufactured for vacuum forming. Milled from wood or polystyrene

Advantages:
ordinal 3d design can be stored digitally and physical positive model disposed off – remaking done from digital file to mill new positive model
allows for a wide variety of material to be vacuum formed

disadvantages:
some contour of the foot may be lost in milling or routing process; depends on mill bit size
CAD shortcuts to design may lead to some variance in design
