Semimembranosus:
Posteromedial aspect of thigh, deep to semitendinosus
Proximal attachment – ischial tuberosity
Distal attachment – posterior medial surface of medial tibial condyle
Function – hip extension and knee flexion (medial rotation of leg when knee is flexed)
Nerve supply – tibial division of sciatic nerve (L5, S1, S2)
