“Ordinal logistic regression is used to predict an ordinal dependent variable given one or more independent variables. More specifically, it will let you: (a) determine which of your independent variables (if any) have a statistically significant effect on your dependent variable; and (b) determine how well your ordinal logistic regression model predicts the dependent variable. As with other types of regression, ordinal logistic regression also allows the use of interactions between independent variables to predict the dependent variable.”
