Tendo-achilles lengthening

Indications- when ankle dorsiflexion restricted; no osseus cause

Procedure:
• Incision about 1cm above Achilles attachment- medial and anterior
• Cut anterolateral fibres while dorsiflexing foot
• 4cm above first incision  mid-line incision  cut medial fibres while dorsiflexing foot in extended knee

Post-op- short leg cast with foot at 90° for two weeks; physical therapy Find Weird and Wonderful Books at AbeBooks
